Stormy Sunday night thoughts....

Tonight the weather is really not great.  Thankfully, I am nice and dry inside the house, waiting out the storms.  I made it home from Mom's around suppertime just in time for the second downpour of the day.  Here's to hoping that the power stays on tonight and I don't sleep through a non-working alarm clock.  At any rate, here are my ramblings of the night.

Kitten Update:
A few weeks ago, I introduced everyone to my three new kittens: Alexander, Michael and Fluffy....well this past Friday I added another little ball of fur to my household: Oliver.  Oliver is about two months old, where the others are around four months old and he's nearly the size of Fluffy (she is pretty small but still...).  Fluffy is super excited to finally have someone her size to play with.  In fact, they are zooming around my kitchen right now playing with a paper grocery bag and ignoring the lightening storm going on outside.  Alex just woke up and is now sitting on my lap, Mike is under the stool I have my laptop propped up on, where he has been since it started booming about two hours ago.  Frightened kitten, just like his big brother Jai was.  :)  Both of them are ignoring the play in the kitchen.  Although if any of their toys end up in the kitchen, watch out!  I will post some pictures of Oliver later.  It also looks like Fluffy will be remaining at my house, which is okay with me.  Not that she wouldn't fit in with Mom's cat, but she just belongs here with her brothers.  Hopefully I can get everyone fixed while I am off in October, if we are able to wait that long.  For the most part, the kids all sleep the night, with the exception of Fluff and Oliver, who think it's time to get up around 5 am.  That's a no.  Alex and Mike sleep a lot longer, which suits me a lot better.  Maybe in a few weeks Oliver and Fluffy will do the same.  I do hope so!

Duck Dynasty:
I don't think I have blogged about my love of this show....it is just hilarious!  I even enjoy watching the reruns.  It just makes me laugh and smile, especially when I am having a craptastic day.  I can totally relate to the Robertson family, as they are very similar to the Munns.  Hunting, check.  Family suppers, check.  Quirky relatives, check.  Rednecks, well yeah, check.  :)  Small town, check.  I really loved the season premier last Wednesday, where the boys gave Phil and Kay a wedding for their anniversary. It was very touching and will live on my pvr for good while.

Other stuff:
This week is the last week I will have my summer student at work.  I am hoping that next week (when he's gone) is not as insane as last week was...so many problems and not enough hours in the day to fix them all.  Very frustrating.  I must say, this year I am really missing the packing up and heading back to school.  It's been eight years, but this year I am actually longing for the start of new classes and the escape from Town.  Oh well, before I know it, winter will be here and I will be stuck in my office working and wishing for the sun to return and shortly after that, I will be asking why winter has gone so fast while I am prepping for construction season.  Such is life I guess.

In a couple of weeks I will be back to leading Guides and Pathfinders.  Since Sarah has moved for work, its going to be an interesting year making sure all of the programming works.  My Pathfinders will be excellent, the girls already work well together as a team and are very self sufficient.  :) We are also planning a bog walk for the rest of the Units in our end of the Guiding Community.  Here's hoping we are able to pull off an interesting and fun day for the girls.  On the schedule, ecology of bogs, bog mummies and lots of fun.  I may even break out a Duck Commander mallard drake call... ;)
